For those unfamiliar with the sassiest, frassiest, classiest cat in Westfinster, Heathcliff is a long running newspaper comic strip that turns 50 this year. The comic strip started in 1973 by George Gately, and is now run by Gately's nephew, Peter Gallagher.
Over the years, Gallagher transformed Heathcliff comics from a silly strip about cat behavior to an absurdist masterpiece. The modern Heathcliff era is rife of surreal gags and fascinating motifs. Above all, Heathcliff plays by his own rules. His cards are never revealed to the player, which leads to each daily comic strip being something to look forward to.
We believe that Heathcliff is the best comic strip on the planet. We've been pushing for a Heathcliff collaboration for quite some time, so it feels very fitting that this collaboration is happening on Heathcliff's 50th anniversary (and our 5th!).
Approved by cartoonist Peter Gallagher, our Heathcliff Cardigan features original artwork from the iconic newspaper strip. This cardigan is black and orange, made of cotton, and features pockets. We have permission to make one small run of cardigans. Once they're gone, they're gone forever. We hope that you enjoy this collaboration as much as we did designing it! We feel truly honored.
